C9: Final Checks

Finally, boot up the game. There are two things we have to confirm to see if everything worked; if you followed the guide step by step, then everything should be fine.

If the game does not boot:

• Make sure you aren't using a modified copy of the game, see Chapter 0 for information on this.

• Check that you are using the correct mod.sprx file (Chapter 2).

• Check that you didn't do something wrong during the patching process (Chapter 4).

• Check that all the files are in the right places (Chapter 8): the p5ex folder in dev_hdd0 and the CPK files and patched EBOOT.BIN in gamefolder\USRDIR.

• If the issue persists, then go back to Chapter 2 and follow the guide again, carefully.

After the game opens and you're on the title screen, you have to first check that the logo shows P5 The Royal Project and not P5 Persona 5. Like this.

If it shows the original Persona 5 logo or the P5EX logo, you must have messed up something when creating the mod.cpk in Chapter 3. Go back there and create a new one, make sure to follow the guide carefully.

Next thing we have to check is the sign Morgana is lying on. Next to the time, it should have TRP written on in, instead of P5. Like this.

If it shows P5 instead of TRP, the Events_05.cpk didn't get read properly. Check that the file is indeed located in \gamefolder\USRDIR\ and the name is Events_05.cpk.

If both things are correct, congratulations! You have successfully installed P5EX and The Royal Project in your console. Enjoy the game as much as possible!

If neither the TRP Logo appears nor the clock shows TRP instead of P5, then either the folders are not in the right place (check Chapter 8 again) or the patching went wrong, so the best thing you can do is go back to Chapter 3 and continue from there, making sure you don't miss a step.
