C6: Setting up the patches

Open up the folder that contains your RPCS3 installation and go to the patches folder.

Grab the patch.yml we created back in Chapter 3 that contains the P5EX and TRP patches and copy that into the RPCS3 patches folder.

You'll likely find that there is already a patch.yml file in this folder. If you've used RPCS3 for P5 or other games before, it probably contains patches for those. It'd be best to make a backup of this file so you can use them later. And replace it with our created one.

After copying, open up RPCS3 (if it isn't already open). Go to the top left and click on Manage, and then click on Game Patches. The Patch Manager should open up.

If you get a pop-up asking you if you would like to download the latest patches, do NOT click yes. Doing this will delete the patch.yml we created and replace it with generic patches for all PS3 games. It's best to make a backup file just in case you miss click.

In the Patch Manager, you should see the patches we pasted into our patch.yml from eariler. Make sure that at the very least, you have The Royal Project Mod SPRX, P5EX and The Royal Project Patches all checked. Once you're done, hit Apply and then Save.

If you see Mod SPRX in the list alongside The Royal Project Mod SPRX, make sure that ONLY The Royal Project Mod SPRX is enabled and that Mod SPRX is disabled!

If you do NOT see all of the patches listed or you get an error when opening the Patch Manager, you likely did something wrong when making the file. Go back to Chapter 3 and follow the instructions carefully from the top.

We should be all done now, time to move on to the final chapter!!!
