C1: Download Time!

First, we'll be heading to the GameBanana page for Persona 5. Obviously, you're here to download Persona 5 EX and The Royal Project, plus other dependencies, but you can feel free to check for any other mods you may want to use!

Keep in mind, there are certain mods that are not compatible with P5EX and/or TRP, here is a list of mods that won't work.

Starting with Persona 5 EX, scroll to the bottom of the page and download these mods:

Be careful not to download the hardware patch files.

If you're using the 4K mod, you'll also need to download The Epic P5 EX 4K Mod Add-On

For The Royal Project, you'll want to download these:

make sure it says Base Mod

Choose only one of these, not all three. They're all the same file

Next, we'll be needing some dependencies, download the Aemulus version of the P5R/P5D Font and Fix Softlock for Community Patches. Those two mods are required for both mods to work properly.

If you're using the 4K mod, be sure to grab the 4K Addon for The Royal Project as well as the 4K version of the P5R/P5D Font mod.

Finally, download the Aemulus Package Manager (if you haven't already).

Let's make a quick recap, at this point you should have:

• p5ex_prx_patch_9a528.7z (the patches for P5EX)

If the numbers after <prx_patch_> don't match with yours, it probably means the patches got updated, so don't worry about that.

• P5EX Mod (Aemulus package, P5EX)

• ExpandedBGM_02.cpk (music used by P5EX and TRP's newly added events, either ADX or HCA)

• P5RBustups_03.cpk (character portraits backported from P5R, needed for P5EX and the newly added TRP events)

• The Royal Project mod (Aemulus package, TRP)

• Events_05.7z (Additional important files required for TRP to work)

• P5R/P5D Font (Aemulus package, the updated P5R font used by P5EX and TRP's newly added events)

• Fix Softlock for Community Patches (Aemulus package, dependency)

• Aemulus Package Manager (the mod manager)

None of the mods or packages in this list are optional or skippable. You must download ALL of the mods listed above.

At this point, my recommendation is that you create a Loadout folder, to keep track of files that don't need any more modifications. There are a couple of files that you can start to move there, starting with:

• Extract Events_05.7z (that contains Events_05.cpk) and P5RBustups_03.7z (that contains P5RBustups_03.cpk) into the Loadout folder. Move ExpandedBGM_02.cpk into the folder as well.

• Extract p5ex_prx_patch_9a528.7z into the Loadout folder.

If you want to, you could check the config.yml inside the p5ex_prx_patch folder, since it has some options that you can toggle. Just make sure to be careful; don't leave a typo as that could make the game crash or not open at all.

This is how your Loadout folder should look like right now.
